BCL offers international private, government sponsored and corporate clients educational and training in the heart of London.

There are faculties in business, tourism and hospitality and computing and technology. Students can also study a range of English language programmes, as well as nursing and health care.

Transport links

Bus: London bus routes 15, 25, 40, 42, 67, 78, 100, 115, 135, 205, 254 and night bus routes N15, N253, 550 and 551 all stop near the Aldgate Tube station. For details on the bus route numbers and bus stop names please see here.

Tube: BCL is served by Aldgate tube station which is in Zone 1, on the Circle Line between Tower Hill and Liverpool Street. All other tube stops in London can be reached within one hour from here. More details can be found here.

Rail: The college is near to Fenchurch Street and Liverpool Street railway stations.

Air: London City Airport and Heathrow Airport are both within an hour's reach of Beckett College.

Coach: National Express coaches run from all major UK destinations to points close to all three campuses.

Town attractions/ ambience

BCL is within walking distance of fashionable areas such as Shoreditch, Hoxton and Dalston, renowned for their cultural attractions including galleries and music venues.

Other places local to the college include: Borough Market and London Bridge (where you can walk along the South Bank and visit the Tate Modern and Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre).

Nightlife

Aldgate is home to a number of bars and restaurants, art galleries and markets and a stone's throw from Tower Bridge, in the heart of the City. With the 2012 Olympics planned and the largest international student population in any city in the world, London is a vibrant choice for any student.

Accommodation

Beckett College London has arrangements with accommodation providers throughout the city and the college staff will be available to assist you in finding suitable accommodation.

Local living costs

Rented accommodation in London can cost from £70 to £130 and above per week, depending on the location, quality and number of occupants in the property. Rent does not usually include bills. Initially a deposit (usually in the amount of one month’s rent) is required to be paid, along with one month’s rent in advance. In general, rent is paid on a monthly basis. The majority of rented accommodation in London is fully furnished.

Education facilities

Classrooms offer a comfortable environment and the latest in learning technologies. The college also has a well-stocked library and fully-equipped computer lab.

Sporting facilities

Throughout London, students will find discounted rates to gymnasiums, swimming pools, athletics club and sports pitches.

Students' Union

BCL's students’ union is the representative body for all students within the college. The students’ union at BCL encompasses sports, clubs and societies and entertainment and events.

International students are actively encouraged to become involved in the students’ union so that they can directly influence and organise events.
